Canvas art with wooden letters

This is a canvas art made with a canvas, wooden letters, glitter and glow in the dark paint that I made for a friends young daughter. The stars that you can see are actually glow in the dark. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Yet another project idea that I got from Pinterest :).

This photo is before I painted the stars on.

This is how it looks all finished, but still drying. Wanted to take a quick snap though so hung it up in the first place I could take, and took the photo. It's back and drying now :P.

I hand painted the canvas with a brush, hand painted the butterflies with a much smaller brush, spray painted the letters (after undercoating them with a brush) in a chrome colour, and used silver glitter glue to add an accent to the letters. I only bought a small amount of glitter glue, and was lucky to be able to cover the little letters, so that's why there isn't any on the big letters, little disappointed about that. There is also some glitter accent on the butterflies.
The pink dots all over the canvas is more glitter again (it's for a young girl, and all girls, no matter what age, like shiny things, so figured I couldn't use too much glitter).
I stuck the letters onto the canvas using Aquadhere, and stuck the glitter on the canvas using spray adhesive.
Finally the glow in the dark stars were done using a stencil that I made up, and glow in the dark spray paint.

Making Windows' 'Send To' More Powerful With AutoHotKey and TeraCopy

I'm a real stickler for organizing my files on my computer. Every file type has its right place to be within my directory structure. I regularly cut and paste files from my download/USB/wherever folders, and then paste them into the right location, after navigating to that folder, but I wanted to do it a better way. I wanted to be able to right click on the file, and then send it to its destination, with only one click (well two if you count the right click). Now Windows has its 'Send To' option in the right click menu, however that copies the file. I would obviously then have to remember to delete the file from the source directory once the copying was completed. This would be a fine solution, however I wanted to do it even quicker than that. And that also leaves open the problem of possibly not knowing which files have been sent (when sending multiple files). There is also the option of adding the 'Move to Folder' (usually found in Edit > Move To Folder) to

Reverse Advent Calendar

I've created a reverse advent calendar, whereby instead of kids receiving a small gift/chocolate/lolly each day of December leading up to Christmas, they choose a toy/belonging that they will give up, and donate to a charity that will pass it on to children who otherwise wouldn't get any gifts on Christmas. I know my nephew is going to be showered with gifts this Christmas, more than he'll be able to play with, which also means that a lot of the toys he's received previously will be pushed to the bottom of the toy box. Most of these toys are in near perfect condition, which would make it a shame for them to be forgotten at the bottom of a box, they could actually be enjoyed by another child. By choosing toys to donate, and understanding why he's doing it, he'll learn generosity and selflessness, knowing that he's helping to make another child's Christmas as good as his. There's also the advantage that his room won't get so messy with an ov

My Matchbox Car display

I've been slowing collecting Hot Wheels Matchbox cars, mainly because I've always wanted to collect them, but also for my nephew to play with when he comes over. However I never had a decent place to display them, which is what you would do with something you collect, and the place that they were being 'displayed' was quickly running out of room! So I came up with this little display solution. Here is what it looked like before As you can see, it's not the best solution, and adding more cars is about to become very problematic. My idea was to add 'shelves' to the edges of this shelf, which will allow the cars to sit, so all cars can be seen at all times, and easily accessed.. Then, to add a nice finishing touch, I would add some LED's, which would light up the display, and make selecting a car to play with (at least for my nephew) a little easier. This is the concept that I came up with At the time of making the concept, I thought I was goi
